Hark keeps everything on your iPhone. There is no account, no cloud, and no server that ever receives your memories. We don't collect, sell, or share your personal data — because it never leaves your device in the first place.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Hark app for iPhone ("Hark", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. Hark is an independent application developed and operated by its developer, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It applies to the Hark app and to this website, askhark.com.
Hark is a private "second brain" that runs entirely on your iPhone. The memories you create and everything Hark derives from them stay on your device. We have built Hark specifically so that your personal content is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
When you use Hark, the following is created and stored locally on your iPhone only:

None. Hark does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information to function. We do not build a profile of you.
Depending on how you use Hark, iOS may ask your permission for certain features. You are always in control, and any content accessed is processed on your device only:

Hark relies on Apple's on-device intelligence (including Apple Foundation Models) together with on-device embeddings and search to understand and recall your memories. Capture, indexing, search, and "Ask Hark" all run locally. Your content is not sent to a remote server for processing, and it is not used to train any model.
Hark contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and there is no advertising identifier used by Hark. If you have chosen at the iOS system level to share analytics with Apple, Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized usage and crash statistics through App Store Connect. This never includes the contents of your memories and cannot identify you.
Your data lives in Hark's private app container on your device, protected by your iPhone's hardware encryption and by your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Because your data is held on your device rather than on our servers, its security is tied to the security of your iPhone — we recommend keeping a device passcode enabled and your iOS up to date.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. We hold none of your content, so there is nothing for us to disclose — including to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. We may share only non-personal, aggregate information (for example, total download counts provided by Apple) that cannot identify you.
If you have enabled iCloud Backup or an encrypted device backup, your Hark data may be included in those backups so it can be restored to a new iPhone. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple under Apple's terms and encryption. We have no access to your backups.

Because Hark does not collect or hold your personal data, requests to access, correct, or erase your data are satisfied directly on your device. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), the EU/UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Hark is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As Hark stores everything locally and collects no data, no personal information about any user — child or adult — is gathered by us.
Hark is offered through the Apple App Store and may be used worldwide. The developer is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and this policy is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without prejudice to any mandatory data-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
