Privacy Policy

The short version

Hark keeps everything on your iPhone. There is no account, no cloud, and no server that ever receives your memories. We don't collect, sell, or share your data — because we never have it in the first place.

1. Information we collect

None that leaves your device. The things you capture in Hark — text, voice notes, images, links, and the memories Hark builds from them — are created and stored locally on your iPhone. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

2. On-device processing

Hark uses Apple's on-device intelligence (including Apple Foundation Models and local embeddings) to understand and recall your memories. Capture, indexing, search, and "Ask Hark" all run entirely on your device. Your content is not sent to a server for processing.

3. No account required

You can use Hark without creating an account, signing in, or providing an email address, name, or phone number.

4. Analytics and tracking

Hark contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we do not track you across apps or websites. If you have opted in to share analytics with Apple at the system level, Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized usage and crash statistics through App Analytics; this never includes the contents of your memories.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Hark's private app container on your device and is protected by your device's encryption and your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Because the data lives on your device, its security is tied to the security of your iPhone.

6. Data sharing

We do not share, rent, or sell your information to anyone. We have no servers holding your content and therefore nothing to share.

7. Backups and device transfer

If you have enabled iCloud Backup or encrypted device backups, your Hark data may be included in those backups under Apple's terms and encryption. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple — we have no access to them.

8. Your control over your data

You are always in control. You can delete individual memories inside the app at any time, or remove all data instantly by deleting the app from your device.

9. Children

Hark is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page and update the date above.
